Did you know that after the holiday’s local food pantries receive fewer donations to help people throughout the long winter months? Girls CAN DO will empower you to make difference to help people locally.
Last year, GSNENY collected over 2 tons of food through GIRLS CAN DO!
The challenge is to hold a food drive collection for canned goods even boxed food ,then “canstruct”, with the food structure based on the themes. You can choose to build a colossal "Blast Off" GSNENY themed construction, just imagine "Making the World a Better Place" helping those facing food insecurity.
Or choose the theme from CANstruction & The Food Pantries Organization being revealed during the month of October).
After you collect your canned goods throughout the Fall, you'll map out and determine what you will construct at Girl Scout Girls Can Do Event at the Empire State Plaza on January 16, 2021.
For more details or to register please contact Linda Stephen at (518)489-8110 or email@example.com
Choose to participate virtually in you own Team build location! We'll share a Zoom link for your team to participate and to be judged with the other teams at the end of the day. Visit the GIRLS CAN DO Landing page for a Food Tracking Sheet to make your food count in the Hunger Heroes program.
In the morning you and your team will build you construction and in the afternoon be judged by members of the CANstruction and Food Pantries Organization in various categories.
GSNENY is hosting a council wide food drive to help the teams or the food pantries in their area. Visit the GIRLS CAN DO landing page to learn more about the food drive and how you can help.
